Jonathan Bletscher (Jonny B at camp) has spent more than half his life at camp. He first attended as a camper in 2004, joined the staff in 2009, and has returned every summer since. As Camp Director, Jonny B serves as a marching instructor, conducting coach, speaker, and facilitator for camp activities (Drill Down, anyone?).
A graduate of West Salem High School in Salem, Oregon, Jonny B served as a high school Drum Major for two years before earning degrees in Music Education and Piano Performance from Seattle Pacific University, followed by a master’s degree through the American Band College. He is currently the band, jazz band, and choir director at Port Susan Middle School in Stanwood, Washington, and also serves as Assistant Director for the Stanwood High School Marching Band. Outside of marching season, he accompanies numerous students at the annual Solo/Ensemble Festival and serves in various musical roles at his local church.
Jonny B is a gifted educator who connects with students through practical teaching, coaching, and serious fun! He is passionate about developing young leaders and finds great joy in watching students rise to new challenges that help them realize their own potential.
“Camp will train you, equip you, and inspire you to think and act like a leader. But the only person who can actually make you a leader… is you!”
