Will began attending camp in 2008, as a Drum Major from Sheldon High School in Eugene, OR and graduated from the collegiate track in 2012. He served as a staff member since 2013 and now leads the Field Tech track alongside his good friend and former schoolmate, Jonathan Morgan.
After graduation from Sheldon in 2010, Will began studying Civil Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2011. He later transferred to Oregon State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in June 2016. Will and his now wife, Emily, briefly moved to Augusta, GA for her to complete a physical therapy doctoral program, after which they relocated back to Eugene in 2021 to be closer to extended family and start their own. They are expecting their first child in July 2025.
Will now works as a licensed civil engineer and project manager for the City of Eugene, managing design and construction of capital improvement projects. He also manages the City’s involvement in MECOP, a cooperative program between companies, local agencies, and Oregon universities that coordinates internships for engineering students. As a former MECOP intern, Will is pleased to be able to mentor and teach the next generation of young engineers as they explore the professional world.
Although Will is no longer active in music or marching, he fondly remembers his days playing saxophone and French horn and leading the marching and pep bands at Sheldon. He uses many of the skills he learned as a camper in his everyday life, both personally and professionally, and is excited to continue passing those lessons on to students each summer at camp.
